Dan Boever was born to swing a stick at a ball and to entertain. Playing baseball before the age of two, Dan’s talent was evident even in diapers. His passion for sports led to a college baseball scholarship and eventually an All-American selection at the University of Nebraska.  In 1983 Dan signed a professional baseball contract with the Cincinnati Reds Organization.  Rising through the minor league ranks to the AAA level was both rewarding and frustrating.  “I met so many amazing people along the way.  It was exciting to progress to the highest levels of the game I loved.” Having the opportunity to play in front of fifty thousand screaming people in Denver’s Mile High stadium will be a memory Dan always treasures.  “Luckily I had a good night.  You don’t want fifty thousand people yelling bad things about your momma.”

Dan’s baseball career ended in 1989 and it was time to enter the “Real World.” For the next seven years Dan went from selling insurance to working as a hitting instructor in Florida to finally ending up as a district sales manager for a national dairy chemical company. In 1996, Dan’s life changed for the better when he traded his baseball bat for a golf club and entered his first long drive contest.  After qualifying later that summer for his first RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, Dan met long drive legend Art Sellinger and his life took a drastic change in direction.

“When I met Art in 1996, little did I know the impact he would have on my family and me.  Art graciously agreed to meet with me for lunch and help map out a plan to become a full time golf entertainer. As the winner of multiple long drive championships and performer of over 1500 exhibitions around the world, Art was the perfect person to ask about doing golf shows.  He remains to this day one of my closest friends and advisors.”

Dan performed his first golf show in August of 1997 for the State Farm/ Red Cross Disaster Tournament in Branson, MO.  It would be the first of over 600 world wide exhibitions to date.  Dan’s decision to quit his sales job and pursue a career as a full time golf entertainer has proven to be the right choice.  “For several years, Art told me I needed to quit my job. I’d be in smelly dairy barns throughout the week and then some amazing private country club on the weekend.  It didn’t take a PHD to figure out that it would be worth a shot.”

Since the decision in 2000 to perform shows full time, it has been an amazing ride.  Dan signed a player endorsement deal with Pinnacle soon thereafter and has since been part of eight national television commercials and numerous promotions.  Dan considers the opportunity he has been provided to represent his sponsors to be his greatest accomplishment in long drive.  “Representing great brands like Pinnacle, Cobra, Maui Jim, and Antigua is a source of tremendous satisfaction.  I am both excited and honored to be associated with these world class companies.”

Among Dan’s numerous career highlights include eleven consecutive appearances at the RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, a dedicated half hour special on the Golf Channel and an Oscar worthy ‘one word’ scene in the 2006 New Line Cinema movie, Hoot directed by Wil Shriner and produced by Jimmy Buffett and Frank Marshall.

“My greatest joy professionally is being able to perform for people and see smiles appear on their faces.  Companies trust me with their most valued prospects, clients, and guests.  I do not take it for granted and I do not take it lightly. Performing golf shows is as fun today as it was on day one.”

Dan resides in Southwest, MO with Kelly, his beautiful wife of sixteen years and their two children; barrel racer extraordinaire, Jessica (15) and pitching star, Justus (13). “They are the reason I go do shows and they are the reason I can’t wait to come home.  Without them it all means nothing.”
