What does a typical golf outing consist of?
Usually there are four parts that make up a normal golf day. First, I will spend individual time with players on the driving range prior to play. This allows one on one time where I can help them with specific problems they may be having with their game. Secondly, I will do a long drive/trick shot exhibition either right before play or at the conclusion of play.
Thirdly, I will be out on the course during the round to interact with teams as they play. I am most often at a par five where I will hit drives for each group and again give tips to the players. Often a small fee is charged to groups who may want to use my drive. This money goes to the charity. Lastly, I will help with the awards presentation and take any questions the audience may have.
How long does your exhibition last?
This is up to the tournament director of each event. The show can be done in 30 minutes or it can take two hours. The best time frame is 45 minutes to an hour. This allows plenty of time for the whole routine and it gives the crowd a chance to get involved.
What do you do in your exhibition?
The show is built around pure power. The shots I hit come from years of questions from people on how they can hit golf balls farther. Just as people love to see the home run and the slam-dunk, they love to see a golf ball hit 350 yards! The show has a wide variety of shots that 99% of the golfing world cannot hit. All the shots have to do with problems people face on a daily basis when they play golf. The slice, the worm burner, the top, the shank, the whiff… even those times when you can't seem to hit your putter farther than 250 yards anymore! The show is fun and lighthearted. It is meant for people to have a good time.
Is your show more entertainment or instruction?
It can be tailored to the crowd I am dealing with. For those groups that want more instruction the exhibition will be more about the basics and on the serious side. For those events that want to their people to have fun and laugh it will be more on the crazy side. These situations allow people to still pick up solid golf tips while they have fun.
What kinds of tournaments do you do?
Most events fall under the following:
· Companies who entertain customers and prospects.
· Charities who are raising funds for their programs.
· Golf clubs having junior clinics or member/guest events.
All of the above seek to provide the best day of golf possible for their players. They provide great courses, gift packs, food and drink along with prizes. Entertainment is a special way to give players a lasting memory of the day.
